How is GNHCLF responding to the foreclosure crisis?

The Real Options, Overcoming Foreclosure (ROOF) Project grew out of collaboration among the City of New Haven, the Yale Law School Clinic and various community organizations, including the Greater New Haven Community Loan Fund. It is a coordinated response to the growing mortgage foreclosure crisis, centered on targeted outreach and assistance to at-risk borrowers, strategic litigation, and a variety of neighborhood stabilization programs. The program’s goals are to keep homeowners in their homes, to reduce the financial and personal costs to families where continued homeownership is not possible, and to reduce the negative impact of multiple foreclosures on the neighborhoods of New Haven.
For general inquiries about the ROOF Project, call 203–401–3377.
Residents concerned about their mortgages are encouraged to call 211 (United Way of Connecticut), where they will be referred to a ROOF Project partner for assistance.
